What prompted you to take up the series?

I was waiting to be back on-screen and it’s a Disney Hotstar show hence there was no second thought. Also, the character that I was offered was very different which I have not played in my career earlier, so I was intrigued. When I found out that Culture Machine is producing it and Shraddha Pasi is directing it, I immediately came onboard.

How did you prepare for the role?

There were multiple script reading sessions with the director and cast before the series went on the floor. There were also preparations done to shape up the look of the character, which I feel is very important.

Your look on MTV Forbidden Angels is so modern and full of spunk, wherein you look absolutely unimaginable in your upcoming show, how did you achieve the transformation?

Yes, I agree, my look MTV Forbidden Angels is very funky, modern whereas my appearance in Nachaniya is raw and desi. Since the story is based in a small town, it was important to bring in the characterization too.

What were the major challenges that you faced?

We faced a lot of challenges as we were shooting amidst the pandemic and we are still in a pandemic. It becomes very difficult for an artist who is performing in front of the camera to be hundred percent mentally present with so much negativity around you due to the Covid-19 scenario in the city. On top of that, I was playing a comic character, so making people laugh was difficult. Having said that thanks to Culture Machine and Shraddha Pasi, they made us feel safe while following all the protocols during the shoot. I am looking forward to watching the audiences’ reaction.

How’s your experience working with your team on the sets?

First of all, these are amazing people and are fantastic at what they do. I had an opportunity to work with Deepak Qazir sir as most of my scenes are with him in the series. He is a senior actor and I have grown up watching him, so to perform with him was an amazing learning experience for me as an actor. Vikram Singh Chauhan, Sandeepa Dhar, Amika Shail, and other cast members have been amazing to work with too. I would want fans to look out for Ashu Sharma, who plays an amazing character in the project and he has nailed his performance.

Finally, your message to your fans…

A message to everyone who follows and love me, I would want to say that we have put in a lot of hard work during tough times, so I really want you all to see this show. I never imagined myself playing a character like this but I did it and I feel I did a decent job, so I can’t wait for you guys to see what we have created.

Good luck Parag!
