Actor Ravi Gosain, who was last seen in Megha Barsenge on Colors TV, is happy with his run on the vertical medium. Having started his work in microdramas with an apprehensive approach, Ravi is now mighty pleased with the kind of diverse roles that are coming his way. In a short time, he has played central roles in as many as 9 vertical concepts, and seems to derive immense creative satisfaction with every experience.
Ravi tells us about his nervous beginnings and the swift change in mindset now, saying, “I never wanted to do verticals. I was sceptical about doing them, and wondered how the actors needed to do so much work in the span of 3-4 days. However, once I worked with one of my favourite directors on a vertical project, I fell in love with the essence of playing a character from start to finish. It has been enjoyable.”
He continues, “I am happy that I have been getting varied and very interesting roles on the vertical medium. I have done about 9 vertical series till now, and I am sure the count will only increase now. The best part is that I play the central character in all these concepts.”
“I have played a villainous and stylish don, that of a Godfather, a Bengali character, a Maharashtrian character who holds on to the family values and principles, also, I got a dumb, poor character. I also got the character of an army officer. I just cannot believe that I am getting versatile roles on the vertical medium. People who know me have started calling me’ King of Verticals’. I am flattered and feel blessed with all the opportunities coming my way,” he ends.
Well, the vertical medium has indeed given a new scope for all involved! And for actors, it is sheer sunshine!!
