Renewed TV actor Maninee Mishra is waiting for the release of her next web series, Coldd Lassi Aur Chicken Masala, with Divyanka Tripathi and Rajeev Khandelwal.

“I play a South Mumbai restaurant owner where Divyanka’s character works as a chef.”

“Revati is a very smart lady who will do what it takes to save her business which is going under. I can’t reveal more as that will open the plot. This Alt Balaji project was delayed for a while. We were originally supposed to shoot last year, but only went on the floors in 2019. Right now, post-production is on and we are gearing up to hit the WWW landscape sometime next month”, Says Maninee, who first gained name and fame courtesy the dim-witted Pari in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi.

“I really loved working with director Pradeep Sarkar who made shooting a breeze. Both Divyanka and Rajeev are also great co-actors to rub elbows with.”

Maninee, who for the moment is also shooting for Balaji Telefilms sci-fi Zee TV show Haiwan, says, “Digital allows the actor the creative freedom to fly. I have nothing against TV content which I personally find regressive, but yet it does resonate with its target audiences.” Her last TV show was Yeh Teri Galiyan

“At the end of the day, we are what we are due to TV. Divyanka again has millions of SM followers due to her small screen stint.”

Prior to this, she also was a part of Amazon Prime’s Made in Heaven. “I really enjoyed my bit with this Zoya Akhtar helmed series. Some liked it, others did not.”

“Nitya Mehra, who directed most of my bit, took real pains in having readings with all of us actors.”

“Web taking and dialogues are much more natural. It is indeed a bridge between larger than life films and run of the mill but huge selling TV.”

When asked if Made in Heaven will come back, she says, “No clue and I don’t really bother myself about things that are anyways beyond my remit.”

“Sadly, many makers have exploited the web’s creative freedom by adding too much sex. Tell me which people only want to get laid? You also need to accept our cultural milieu which is squeamish about openly talking about lovemaking,” added she.

“I have turned down a number of bold shows, for I am not comfortable and being the mother of a 20-year-old, I have certain responsibilities. I take parenting very seriously.”

Would you do more web shows? “I have been offered a few, but doing regular TV leaves you with no time for anything else.”
