I took time to come out of my character Munna from Mirzapur: Divyenndu

Divyenndu, the actor previously known as Divyendu Sharma, stood out as the affable Nishant aka Liquid in Pyaar Ka Punchnama and also enthralled as Munna in Mirzapur, believes that a violent character can scar your personality very deeply.

“When you do serious work than you don’t have to be serious all the time. I took time to come out of my character Munna. Hence, every day I was playing hot hatred. I started noticing those traits in my real life too as I used to tell auto drivers to ride properly by shouting them on road. However, I realized that this was happening before as well before I played the character of Munna so why am I reacting that way. You have to consciously come out of it and don’t have to romanticize the fact. It will scar your personality very deeply. Mirzapur shoot has not started yet hence I was in a pretty neutral state only. I think every character is a special character.”

The actor was recently seen in Badnaam Gali, a ZEE5 Original, which deals with the subject of Surrogacy. He says, “I was given a character who belongs to Punjab hence I was scared. I never played such a guy also I don’t know to speak the language. I wanted to be sure that I pick the right nuances for the role. Hence, I watched a lot of videos of  Yuvraj Singh and tried to observe his body language, mannerisms and also his diction for the role. I also had less time to prepare for the role.”

Lastly talking about his co-star Patralekha, he adds, “We knew each other hence it helped us to make the character look more appealing.”
