Amrita Puri is one of the finest and most gorgeous divas of the entertainment industry and over the years, courtesy of some serious hard work and smart choices, she has managed to make it count. Some of her most credible works include the likes of Kai Po Che, Aisha, Judgementall Hai Kya, A Flying Jatt, Gulabo Sitabo and now, she’s all set make an impact once again with her next ‘Jeet Ki Zid’ alongside the very amazing Amit Sadh.
In ‘Jeet Ki Zid’, Amrita plays the real-life character of Jaya Sengar, the wife of Kargil hero, Major Deependra Singh Sengar. When Amrita was asked about the challenges she had to face while portraying a real-life character for the first time, she said and we quote,
“So, initially, I was a bit worried on how I would be doing justice to the character because we started shooting around July and Jaya Ji and Deependra ji are settled in the USA. It was challenging to understand the body language since I never met her. But all thanks to my director and his vision, he told me clearly that he doesn’t want to make it caricaturish in any way. He simply guided me from mannerisms to dialogue delivery, and I just followed his vision. I kept my performance as natural as possible.”
When further asked about how it was reuniting with Amit after Kai Po Che, she further added,
“Well, it was phenomenal. We both had started around the same time and we have been in touch. We have literally seen each other grow and what I love about Amit is how much he keeps himself involved in the entire process. He’s phenomenal and quite an inspiration. I love the positive energy and vibe whenever I am working with him.”
Jeet Ki Zid is all set to stream on ZEE5 on 22nd January.
