Actress Geetanjali Tikekar who is known for her portrayals in TV shows Kasautii Zindagii Kay, Karam Apnaa Apnaa, Tere Liya etc added a new feather in her cap recently when she produced her maiden short film titled ‘Besharam’.
The engrossing tale is about the bonding and relationship between a mother and daughter. While Geetanjali essays the role of the mother, actress Anupriya Kapoor plays the daughter.
The short film is produced under the banner Filmy Martians. The story and dialogues are written by Geetanjali and Sulagna Chaterjee and Swara, and the film is directed by Kunal Jadhav.
Says Geetanjali, “It was a great experience producing the short film. We actually made it for a competition, wherein we had to produce 50 hours of content for a film competition. It was a reunion for me and Anupriya as we were part of the show Tere Liye.”
On the concept of the film, she states, “We had to stick to the theme, which is about the today’s generation, the changes they experience and how they deal with it. This is a small interaction between a mother and a daughter.”
Geetanjali is happy about the outcome and looks at working on another film too. “It was not easy producing the film. It was very hectic but it was the matter of 50 hours. But these were the most pacey 50 hours of my career. I got so addicted to the rush that I am now considering making another film now.”
