After winning the prestigious Best Short Film on Social Cause for his film Rickshawala last year at Cardiff International Film Festival, director Ram Kamal Mukherjee is gearing up again for next year to showcase two of his films Ek Duaa and Shubho Bijoya at the prestgious Festival in Great Britian.
“I am excited and happy that two of my films will be screened at the prestgious film festival, and I am thankful to Festival Director and Jury members for this honour. It means a lot when your body of work gets appreciated,” says director Ram Kamal Mukherjee.
Ek Duaa starring Esha Deol Takhtani and Rajveer Ankur Singh deals with gender inequality in Indian society, while Shubho Bijoya starring Gurmeet Choudhury and Debina Bonnerjee deals with a married couple who faces physical challenges in life. “Both films were distinct in its content and depicted Indian society in different hues. The range of director Ram Kamal is clearly visible in the kind of subject he selects. We are happy to have both his films as a part of our festival this year,” says Festival Director Rahil Abbas.
During this challenging times, the festival will remain virtual keeping the safety protocol in mind. “It is very important to showcase your films at International platforms, because that gives you bigger exposure. I feel Ek Duaa and Shubho Bijoya both will find its audiences as they are two different genres,” adds Ram Kamal.
