Applause Entertainment and Sony Liv recently announced Scam 2003, a sequel to its successful crime drama Scam 1992- The Harshad Mehta Story. The second season of the franchise will feature the story of the 2003 stamp paper scam by Abdul Karim Telgi. The show will be adapted from the Hindi book Reporter ki Diary authored by journalist Sanjay Singh, who is credited with breaking the story of the scam back in the time.

The series will be helmed by Hansal Mehta, also the director of the first installment, and Tushar Hiranandani. Marathi film writer Kiran Yadnyopavit, has been roped in to write and develop the story along with Singh. As per reports, theatre artiste Gagan Dev Riar will play the lead in the new series.

Now, IWMBuzz.com has exclusively learnt that Bhojpuri superstar Dinesh Lal Yadav aka Nirahua, who is known for his work in projects like Chalat Mushafir Moh Liyo Re, Nirahuwa Rikshaw Wala, Ganga Devi, Nirahua Hindustani 2 and Pratigya, has been roped in for the series. Dinesh will play a prominent role in the project and he is already shooting for the same.

We reached out to Dinesh, and the spokesperson at Sony Liv and Applause Entertainment but did not get revert till we filed the story.
