Model-turned-actor Joy Banerjee, who was last seen in the historical series Surajya Sanhita will be making his digital debut soon.
We hear from sources, “Joy has been roped in to play the role of a drug peddler in the upcoming web series ‘Dark Tales 12 Ghante’. He will play a character who has left the dark world of the drug mafia and started his new life. Unfortunately, he gets haunted by the past, which changes his life upside down.”
When contacted Joy said, “I am playing the role of a guy, who was a drug trafficker. Later, he decided to begin a brand-new life, but he was troubled by his past.”
He further added, “I am pretty excited since this is my first web series, and I am getting an opportunity to play a multi-layered character.”
For the uninitiated, Joy earlier did telly commercials with Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, and Saif Ali Khan among others. He played the roles of Arjun, Laxman, and Chandragupta Vikramaditya in a mega historical series helmed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who directed Akshay Kumar starrer Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan.
The series we hear, will launch on a noted OTT platform, discussions for which are presently happening.
