India is the fastest-growing nation for startups and it has changed the business scene with the creation of several innovative startups. These small-scale startups have turned out to be game-changers and are changing the landscape of business in the country. ‘Weddopedia’, one of the leading wedding portals was started in 2016 by Naman Tyagi. The wedding platform is for all the couples who want to plan their grand event. The startup takes care of the entire wedding event, management, finding a suitable vendor and arranging other comforts and facilities for the clients as per their budget. Moreover, the wedding portal is a one-stop destination as it also gives its clients the independence to plan their wedding as per their needs and requirements.

Started as a small-scale startup, ‘Weddopedia’ has grown as a full-fledged company with expanding its presence all over the country. In December this year, the company will complete 4 years which has become a profitable venture for the young entrepreneur. In the initial stage of its launch, the wedding portal was a user-friendly website that is now upgraded as a customized platform for the clients. Besides this, ‘Weddopedia’ was selected as one of the top startups by FIED at IIM Kashipur for offering the best wedding planning services all over India. Another reason behind the wedding portal’s success is Naman’s unmatched popularity on social media.

The entrepreneur besides his business is also working closely for many social causes. In the coronavirus crisis, Naman Tyagi has helped many people financially by providing them with essential commodities. He says, “In dire times like these, we should strengthen the unity and stand for our people. Every contribution made in this epidemic counts and my team has been doing the best to help the needy people.” The entrepreneur who hails from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh had earlier initiated several social media campaigns during the lockdown to make people aware of the safety measures one must take during the pandemic.

Naman Tyagi’s excellent works have been felicitated on various occasions and he was honoured with the Karamveer Chakra Award by the Global Fellowship Award instituted by the United Nations and International Confederation of NGO (iCONGO) at the ReX ConcLIVE at IIT Delhi. The Karamveer Chakra Award is a sign of respect and a tribute to the former president of India, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam. The year 2019 was the most successful for him as he was nominated and awarded more than 10 national and state awards. He also became a world record holder for enlisting his social media pages. Tyagi further aims to take ‘Weddopedia’ across borders as he wants to make it a global wedding planning platform in the coming years.
