Preeyal Gor, who debuted at the age of 15 with the show Ishaan: Sapno Ko Awaaz De, quickly gained prominence playing the lead role in shows Ram Milaayi Jodi and Ichhapyaari Naagin. Over the years, she has expanded her career across languages, starring in films like Saheba Subramanyam (Telugu), Anarkali (Malayalam), and recent projects including Maharaj. Known for taking on grounded, character-driven roles, she continues to navigate television, web, and film mediums.
She recently shot for a vertical series and played a doctor in it. The series is produced by Shakeb Sayyed Studios for Story TV. Preeyal portrays a doctor whose professional growth is derailed by her husband’s envy of her career success. The narrative centres around her journey of overcoming this personal hurdle, regaining her independence, and ultimately returning to the medical profession she loves.
Talking about this shooting experience, Preeyal says, “I was happy to work with the team; they were such sweet people.”
Discussing the shoot format, she noted, “It was good but hectic because you have to finish so many episodes in 3 days.”
Opening up about what drives her choice of roles and projects at this stage in her career, Preeyal emphasised a balance between quality content and practical career decisions. “I’m mainly looking for decent characters and content, nothing vulgar or overly sexual. That’s also why I chose to play a wife/home maker in my recent project. And honestly, I’m also being practical. There’s so much competition, and it’s become really difficult to find good work these days. So I’m looking for projects that pay well too. If the content is good, the role is decent, and the money makes sense, I’m open to it.”
