Kabir Sadanand and Frogs Lehren’s short film Life Fucks received humongous appreciation on the web!!

Now, the short has made it as an official selection at the Vancouver International South Asian Fim Festival 2017. Directed by Kabir, the short had Kabir in the central role along with Sandeepa Dhar.

Kabir who is an actor turned director and producer won a lot of praise for his acting prowess in the unique role.

Says Kabir, “We made this short film with the intention of doing something out of the box. That is why we went black and white with it. When we narrated the concept to Sandeepa she was very much excited. We wanted to cast someone else in the central role; but our DOP Hardeep wanted to cast me for it. I was not prepared at all, since it was long since I had acted. However, she put me on a 45 days preparation as I had to put on weight. I am always a fitness freak and had to start eating anything and everything. I stopped my gym activities and maintained a sluggish attitude throughout. We then shot the film. Now looking at the official selections and appreciation, it is a great feeling. When I see our hard work translating into something exciting, it means a lot to me. This was a complete experiment, going black and white and casting me. All have seen me as a good guy whenever I have acted. So this was different. The only person who experimented with me by casting me for a slightly grey role was Ashwini Choubey in the movie Good Boy Bad Boy. So when it came to performance, it was a difficult one for me as we wanted to keep it real and natural. Yes, it has been an exciting journey.”

Kabir and his team stand tall today with Life Fucks getting nominated for the Best Short Film, Best Director and Best Actor categories at the Festival. The Film Festival will be held in the second week of November in Vancouver, Canada. The team will also be travelling to another festival post this.”

It has been a heartening experience for Frogs Lehren as two of their short films Life Fucks and Papa We Love You Too were shortlisted at the Festivals. “Yes, it was a tough moment for us as both the shorts are our babies. They had lots of films and they had to select. It was tougher for me as my son has acted in the other short, Papa We Love you Too. I have always taught my kids to never run for awards, but to do their best. He gave his heart and soul and I am happy for him. He was the one who told me that he should be doing this role. He went through the audition process like others and got selected. He’s a brilliant actor.”

Speaking further about the accomplishment of Frogs Lehren, Kabir said, “When we started our online channel, we wanted to make content that people like. And to get a good response makes us happy. We will continue to entertain people.”

Here’s wishing more success to Frogs Lehren team!!
