The Indian Premier League was founded by Lalit Modi, who is most known for IPL. He was the one who suggested a T20 league to the BCCI in 2007, following India’s victory in the first T20 World Cup. The Indian Premier League (IPL), one of the biggest sporting events in the world, appointed Lalit Modi as its first chairman. However, the Indian Cricket Board suspended him in 2010 due to a number of allegations, including financial irregularities. After being found guilty of the accusations three years later, in 2013, Modi was given a lifetime ban by the BCCI. Soon after, he relocated to London with his family, which included his children Aliya and Ruchir, as well as his wife, Minal Modi, who passed away from cancer in 2018.

According to Aaj Tak, Modi, who was raised in a prosperous Delhi business family, has a stunning $570 million (Rs 4,555 crore) in personal wealth. His grandfather, Gujar Mal Modi, founded Modi Enterprises in 1933, and he is currently its president and managing director. The Modi Group operates in a variety of industries, including fashion, chemicals, healthcare, retail, salons, travel, personal care, entertainment, and FMCG. The corporation owns a number of well-known brands, including Godfrey Phillips, Colorbar, Pan Vilas Pan Masala, Modicare, Beacon Travels, and KK Modi Educational Institute. Modi Enterprises is currently valued at more than $1.5 billion, according to Aaj Tak (approx 12,000 crores). It should therefore come as no astonishment that Lalit Modi leads a very opulent lifestyle in London and that his home is located in an upscale neighborhood.

After being suspended from the IPL, Lalit Modi relocated to London in 2010. He later claimed that he had received threats against his life in India. According to NDTV, Modi resides in a five-storey home in London that is 7000 square feet in size. The opulent building has 14 rooms and an elevator built right into it. It is situated on Sloane Street in upscale Belgravia. According to another news18 story, the mansion also contains two guest rooms, four reception rooms, seven bathrooms, and two kitchens. He does not, however, own the home; rather, he leases it.

The interiors of the mansion look exquisitely royal, as can be seen in the photos shared on Instagram by Lalit Modi and his son Ruchir Modi.
