On Tuesday, Buddy Mercury celebrated his three-year “gotcha” anniversary of being rescued by the Wolfe family in a way that few dogs can.

If you want to get technical, he played the piano and sang, or pawed the keys and howled.

Buddy’s self-taught performance has gotten a lot of attention on the internet since it’s extremely cute. The sight of Eve, the two-year-old human sister, bopping along adds to the allure.

Buddy is from Ronkonkoma, Long Island, but he’s now all over the place. According to WABC, he has an Instagram account and sells products. He also issued an album, with half of the proceeds benefiting animal sanctuaries.

Laurie Wolfe, his human mother, said to WABC, “We want to help more animals get rescued.” “We only have so much space in our home. We can’t keep bringing them here.”

Buddy Mercury is named after the late Queen vocalist Freddie Mercury, who was a favorite of the family. But, given his Long Island origins, we’d like to believe he’s got a little Billy Joel in him as well.

Buddy, we’re all in the mood for a melody, and you’ve made us feel great.

Laurie Wolfe told Newsday, “We’re just trying to make it fun.” “When we have family and friends over for dinner, sometimes he just jumps up there. He’s a little virtuoso.”
