On the occasion of Eid al-Adha, a Pakistani journalist interviews a buffalo in a video that has shattered the Internet. Amin Hafeez, a TV reporter known for his amusing contacts with animals, recently had an open conversation with a buffalo, in which he inquired about the herbivore’s fondness for the city of Lahore. A witty video of the incident went viral on Twitter, with roughly ten thousand people watching it so far.

Hafeez is shown in the video visiting a livestock market in Lahore, Pakistan, where buffaloes are sold for Qurbani or Eid sacrifice. He then spots a buffalo, points his microphone at it, and begins his interview.“How do you feel now that you’ve arrived in Lahore?” Hafeez inquires of the buffalo. The buffalo makes a moo sound, which the journalist perceives as a yes, as he waits for the answer.

“Aap batayein, Lahore ka khana achha hai nay aapke gaon ka khana achha hai,” he says, before moving on to his second inquiry. (Which do you think is better? Is it the meal of Lahore or the food of your village?) After a few moments of waiting, he receives a response from the animal, which mooses once more. This causes the senior reporter to exclaim, “Haan, kehti hai Lahore ka khana achha hai,” to the delight of the audience. (Yes, she claims to enjoy Lahore cuisine.)

Hafeez’s antics have caused quite a stir on the internet, with many people responding with humorous responses. The film, on the other hand, drew criticism for depicting an animal sacrifice rite. “It’s awful to see these animals’ innocent eyes,” one user said. “This is cruel, to be honest,” one person said, while another echoed the same.
