Several anecdotes abound on the internet about people who ordered phones but received strange items instead. A consumer received a couple of bars of soap after ordering an Apple iPhone 12 in yet another case of online shopping site confusion. Simranpal Singh allegedly received two bars of Nirma soap instead of the iPhone he ordered from Flipkart during the e-commerce website’s Big Billion Days Sale, according to a DNA investigation.

A video of the client recording a clip of the delivery worker unwrapping the product was posted to a YouTube account. He refused to give the OTP to the delivery guy because that would indicate that the customer had received the order. Instead of the iPhone 12, the delivery person discovers two soap bars for Rs 5 inside the box when he opens it.

The incident has astonished many because Flipkart is a well-known e-commerce platform. Singh protested to Flipkart’s customer service following the blunder, and the business apparently recognized the error after a few days of him pushing and haggling with the delivery partner. In addition, the corporation canceled the phone order and issued a refund to the buyer. According to reports, the money has been deposited into the customer’s bank account.

Customers are encouraged to open high-value goods, such as cell phones and appliances, only in the presence of delivery personnel.
