A brave 11-year-old girl from the United States has been praised for fending off a guy who attempted to kidnap her while waiting for her school bus.

The terrifying occurrence, which occurred at 7 a.m. on a weekday in West Pensacola, Florida, was filmed on a house video camera earlier this week. The video has now gone viral on the internet.

The footage shows the youngster standing alone by the side of a driveway when a man emerges from a car and attempts to grab her. He drags her for a few seconds before she finds her wits and strength and begins to fight back.

The girl kicks and punches the man until he gives up and rushes back to his car, where he gets into his car and drives away.

Sheriff Chip Simmons of Escambia County complimented the girl for her bravery. “When I say fights, she struggles. She went limp, she’s kicking, she’s pushing, she’s punching. And she’s able to get free. She fought, and she never gave up,” At a press conference, Simmons stated.

A guy has been arrested in connection with the crime, according to the sheriff. The department also stated that the suspect was driving a white Dodge pickup truck and was equipped with a knife. With the use of security film that clearly revealed the automobile, investigators were able to track down the suspect. The individual was later recognized as Jared Paul, a 30-year-old with a lengthy criminal record. The child had met the same man a few weeks before the event, according to an NBC News story. However, he is said to have attempted to communicate with her in Spanish at the time. The pre-teen was alone on the day of the attempted kidnapping. The girl’s mother, on the other hand, has been accompanying her to the bus stop since that day.
