There is no shortage of prank videos on social media these days. Some are apparently scripted, while others are unscripted (at least they claim to be). A teen’s prank on a McDonald’s security officer, on the other hand, backfired, and the man ended up smacking him. The entire encounter was videotaped, and the footage has gone viral on social media. The cops are now looking into the horrifying clip. The video was taken outside the McDonald’s restaurant in Dundonald, Northern Ireland, near Belfast.
The security guard claimed that as part of the hoax, the child tossed a messed-up paper bag at him. The guard was seen in the viral video holding the teen by the neck of his jacket while his pals laughed while filming the video. Things took a turn for the worst when the man attacked the boy with his right hand. In the video, he asks, “Are you crazy?”
According to a McDonald’s representative, the individual works for an outside security firm and has been suspended from working at the fast-food chain’s locations while an inquiry is conducted. Customers had been verbally and physically hostile towards the restaurant employees’ before the confrontation, they said.
A McDonald’s spokesperson said, “The safety and security of our people and customers is our absolute priority. This video shows the culmination of an incident in which a customer had become verbally and physically abusive towards our restaurant team. The individual in question works for an external security company and will not be on duty at any of our restaurants while the investigation is ongoing.”
A spokesman for the Police Service of Northern Ireland stated, “Police are investigating the report of an assault outside commercial premises in the Upper Newtownards Road area of Dundonald on Saturday evening (January 8th). It was reported at around 10 pm that a young male had been slapped across the face by a man.”
