The bonding between animals and people is not new. But we usually see people bond with their pet cats and dogs and we love that bonding. But what we saw in this video shared online was something that we had never seen before. A toddler bonding with a huge elephant. Yes, you read that right, a toddler bonding with a huge mother elephant.

Meet young Harshita Bora from Assam and her playmate, Binu, the 54-year-old majestic elephant. Harshita, who is barely three years of age, bonds exceptionally with this elephant who has been with their family for a long time.

She regularly feeds the elephant and Binu often gives her rides all across the village. The elephant also always obeys her commands and is her favorite playmate.

In a video that was shared by her family, young baby Harshita is seen drinking milk off of this mother elephant Binu. It is however fascinating to see that the elephant does not even move a single bit and lets Harshita have her fun.

When asked about the video and their bond with the elephant, Harshita’s father said, “My father got Binu in Nagaland. She used to work there. However, when the falling of trees was banned by the Supreme Court, we got her back from Khonoma in the early nineties. Binu gave birth to a female calf and once both of them were stolen. Later, we found them back from Sadia near Arunachal Pradesh”.
