In this season of The Voice, Ariana Grande has been serving big looks as a judge. She’s sported everything from antique Gucci shirts to Blumarine gowns from the current season. Her most recent appearance, though, is unquestionably her finest. Grande wore a vintage Versace outfit from the Italian label’s spring 2003 collection at the singing competition this week. The halter mini dress featured waist cut-outs and a multicolored patterned skirt. Not only from the runway but also from the fun, Y2K frock is giving us déjà vu. If you’re a fan of 2000s rom-com, you’ll recognize Jennifer Garner’s outfit from 13 Going On 30.

If you haven’t viewed the movie yet, it is about Jenna Rink (Christa B. Allen), a 13-year-old girl who wishes to be “thirty, flirtatious, and prospering.” Her wish is granted. She’s converted into a 3-year-old (Garner) who happens to be a “big-time magazine editor” with a closet full of gorgeous clothing thanks to some magical sparkles. Jenna wears the same Versace outfit Ariana Grande is wearing when she does the “Thriller” dance at a party. It’s one of the film’s most renowned outfits, and Grande is certainly paying respect to it. She even wore her hair in the same wacky updo as Garner, complete with the same bright eye make-up.

This isn’t the first time the Versace gown has been resurrected after the movie’s release. Allen wore the outfit again this summer and recreated the movie makeover scene on her TikTok page. Since then, searches for “13 Going on 30 dress” have been rapidly increasing this year, and several manufacturers have been making copycat versions as a result of its success (such as this $18 Cider version). It’s the outfit that just won’t go away. Grande, on the other hand, gets bonus marks for locating the actual designer original and bringing it to a widely-viewed television show. Her runway is the swivel chair!
