A sumptuous breakfast isn’t something you can achieve every day. That isn’t to say we should settle for a sugar surge that will leave us miserable and hungry a half-hour later. When it comes to healthy breakfast ideas, you’d be amazed how many of them need relatively little effort to implement. Use sunflower seed butter (or your favorite seed or nut butter) and a sprinkling of whole raw chia seeds in this healthy variation on basic Peanut Butter and banana. For the morning rush, here’s a quick and tasty smoothie.

Blending fresh or frozen fruit (banana and berries work nicely) with Greek yogurt and a drink of your choice (milk, juice, coconut water — whatever you prefer) takes less than five minutes. This recipe is so delicious that you should freeze one overnight and thaw it throughout the day so you may have it in the afternoon. Smoothies are a great grab-and-go snack at any time of day. You’ll swear you’re drinking a milkshake if you combine frozen bananas, peanut butter, soy milk, Greek yogurt, honey, and a few ice cubes. If this is a morning snack, keep it in an airtight container and stash it in a gym or work bag pocket.

Prepare it the night before and freeze it for an afternoon boost. When that 3 p.m. lull sets in, remove it in the morning, and it will be thawed and ready. This is the ideal breakfast for a busy person. In a sealed container, combine the oats, chia seeds, blueberries, vanilla, almond milk, and maple syrup. Refrigerate overnight. Breakfast is ready when you add slivered almonds and half a sliced banana. Heat for 1–2 minutes in the microwave if you’re in the mood for something warm.
