INGREDIENTS:

* Chopped onion or onion paste.

* Finely chopped tomato or tomato paste, garlic paste.

* Garam masala powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder.

* Mustard seeds, cumin seeds and cumin powder.

* Coriander powder, fennel seeds and matatki or beans of your choice soaked overnight.

* Curry leaves, oil salt, asafoetida.

FOR GARNISH.

* Chopped coriander, onion and green chillies.

* Lime slices, mix farsan and pav to eat the misal.

METHOD.

* Heat oil in deep pan.

* Add mustard seeds, jeera seeds and fennel.

* Let it crackle and once it crackles, add curry leaves, turmeric powder, garlic paste, asafoetida and fry it for just one minute.

* Add chopped onion and fry for thee to four minutes until they become soft.

* Now add all the remaining powder ingredients.

* Cook for few minutes and then add chopped tomato.

* Cook until tomato becomes soft.

* Allow all the mixture to simmer well till all the oil starts oozing out.

* Now add soaked beans, chopped coriander leaves and salt for taste.

* Finally add boiling water and adjust taste of salt. Cook until the beans are cooked properly.

* Your malvani misal is ready to eat with pav.

* Garnish it with coriander leaves, onion and farsan and serve with pav and sliced lemon.
