INGREDIENTS:
* 4 cups of thick mawa.
* Superfine sugar.
* Silvered almonds for garnish.
* Crushed pistachios.
* Elaichi powder, ghee, milk powder if required.
* Essence or rose water.

METHOD:
* First assemble all the ingredients.
* Add ghee to heavy-bottomed pan, crumble mawa.
* Mix and cook for few minutes.
* Add half crushed pistachios, stir in sugar and keep mixing. Don’t leave it unattended. Meanwhile, add rose water or essence.
* As sugar will start to melt, the mixture will become thin. Continue to cook for few minutes on low to medium flame.
* Keep stirring until moisture gets absorbed and the mixture becomes like dough. If the mixture is thin then you can add milk powder and adjust sugar.
* Take the pan off the flame and allow it to cool. Knead until smooth and lump-free.
* Grease a tray and transfer this mawa mixture to it and smoothen the top and the edges.
* Sprinkle elaichi powder and add almonds, pistachios, and silver leaf.
