I was unable to resist. I had to make some because I’ve been hankering for chicken wings like crazy. There is no need to go out and buy wings when you can prepare them at home. I’m using my recently created Jamaican jerk seasoning rub to make these. With this recipe, we’re traveling to the Caribbean. If you count the brine, the flavor explosion is actually tripled. To make the chicken wings particularly moist on the interior, I brined them. Though it isn’t required, if you have the time, I highly suggest it.

The flavor in these jerk chicken wings is incredible. Despite not being “hot,” they have a great Caribbean flavor and are deliciously peppery. They most certainly are warming. I’ll cover seasoning in more detail if you want to significantly increase the post’s level of spiciness.

Recipe

First, use paper towels to pat your chicken wings dry. Then, generously coat them with your Jamaican jerk seasoning. Feel free to use your preferred brand if you prefer; I made a fresh handmade blend. Read more about the seasoning mixture below. Next, preheat your grill to medium-high and give the grates quick oiling. The wings are being grilled in place of being fried. No offense to fried. Simply put, depending on my mood, I love them grilled, baked, or broiled. Grill the wings for 10 minutes on each side or until they are thoroughly cooked.

Although you can occasionally get an excellent jerk spice blend at your neighborhood grocery store, making your own is always preferable. Even if there are numerous ingredients, it is still worthwhile to make because of how fresh it will taste. Additionally, you may customize it to your tastes by including more of what you like, such as cayenne pepper, for greater heat. You may also add some hot ghost pepper powder to really kick things up.
