A father plays a key role in his child’s life. It takes more for being a dad than to father a child. The place of a father cannot be replaced by anyone. The role of the father is really important in a child’s life and it also shapes the child into the person that they become eventually. Just like mothers, fathers are also pillars in the emotional well-being of a child. A child looks to their father for emotional security as well as physical security. Father’s support and affection greatly contribute to a child’s social and cognitive development. Our relationships with people and also who we are inside as we grow are often influenced by our father.
Here are a few things that a father can do to show their love for their children:
Love them unconditionally: Your children need to know that you love them no matter what. Children who are secure in their father’s love act out less permissively.
Love their mother: Children act and build themselves by what they observe around them. So if you are divorced, respect your child’s mother with respect. Never show disgrace towards them even if they show disgrace.
Be there: Make sure you are always there for your child whenever they need you. A father’s support and love and comfort are necessary for a kid.
Provide: Provide your child with enough love. If you have a well-providing job, provide a stable home. Your love and affection are what they need over materialistic things.
Teach them to love life: Parents are the best teachers. You can inculcate good values and nurture them to love and respect their life.
