Brad Pitt was so moved by his wedding to Jennifer Aniston in 2000 that he broke down in tears. The couple married in a secret ceremony in Malibu, California, in 2000. They exchanged vows at sunset and the wedding began with a gospel choir performance, reports The Mirror. The wedding march was a song from Blur’s 1999 album 13. During the service, Brad reportedly broke down. He made a unique promise to always “split the difference on the thermostat,” which Jen had written in her response to his vows.

In her response to his vows, Jen pledged to make his favorite banana milkshake. Brad and Jen split in 2005 after 13 years of marriage. She said in the months after their split: “I still feel so lucky to have experienced it. I wouldn’t know what I know now if I hadn’t been married to Brad” she told Vanity Fair. “I still feel like I’m in that moment of ‘This is real. I’m married to this person.’ It was like a dream. I still have that wedding picture framed in my bedroom. It’s just a reminder of how lucky I am.”

The pair met on the set of the 1994 movie A River Runs Through It, and they starred as a couple in the 1996 comedy The Wedding Singer. They had a son, Max, in 2001 and a daughter, Ella, in 2003. Brad and Jen’s split came after a series of public spats, including Jen’s admission that she had cheated on Brad with her former fiance, Vince Vaughn. Brad also had a brief affair with Angelina Jolie, which led to their divorce in 2015.
