Lost in Translation

Not only is it a fantastic film, but it also transports you to the center of Tokyo’s chaos. Two characters stranded at their hotel are played by Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson… At least until they break free and go exploring around Tokyo. They are confined by their own will, and this is what binds them together. They join forces to flee Tokyo’s never-ending energy. The sights, sounds, and intensity will take your breath away and make you want to book a journey to Japan. It’s one of my all-time favorite films.

Whale Rider

The story revolves around a young Maori girl and her battle to get her grandfather’s approval. However, Maori culture is the true star here. The modern world of a Maori is depicted in a way that is both fascinating and sympathetic. While in New Zealand, I met a member of the featured tribe who indicated the film had a significant impact on his people. This film piqued my interest in Maori culture, which is one of the reasons I traveled to New Zealand.

Lord of the Rings

Peter Jackson’s award-winning epic, which is set in New Zealand, will leave you speechless with its unique and gorgeous setting. New Zealand’s magnificence was the star of this film, from glaciers to rivers, mountains, and forests. It was the catalyst for the country’s current tourism business, establishing it as one of the top adventure destinations in the world. Lord of the Rings tours are open to die-hard enthusiasts.

Into the Wild

Based on a true event, this film follows Christopher McCandless as he tries to let go of his material possessions and reconnect with nature. After graduating from college, Christopher embarks on a cross-country road adventure that leads him to Alaska. Despite the fact that much of the plot is based on secondhand recollections, the film serves as a sad reminder that we may all benefit from simplifying our lives a little and simply enjoying life. It serves as a reminder that travel is about what we bring with us, not what we bring with us.

In Bruges

Although Colin Farrell believed Bruges was hell, the city serves as a gorgeous setting for this comedy. And I have to say; I didn’t know much about Bruges until I saw this film. Sure, I knew where it was and how well-known it was, but I’d never given it much attention. I was itching to visit Bruges after seeing this film! It appeared to be lovely. Bruges is a fantastic place to visit if you want to travel back in time. This film will make you want to include it on your next European vacation.
