Many people think of Europe as a continent where people use an interrail pass to go from city to city. Europe, on the other hand, is far more. Let’s not forget that this continent is home to some of the world’s most beautiful natural scenery, and those who seek out its hidden gems will be completely immersed in nature. What should I do, and where should I go? This is exactly what we’ll discover. These, in my opinion, are Europe’s most gorgeous alpine landscapes.

SAXON & BOHEMIAN SWITZERLAND NATIONAL PARKS

Saxon and Bohemian Switzerland are two independent national parks in Germany and Czechia, which may lead one to believe that this natural beauty is concealed someplace within the Swiss Alps due to its unusual name. They are most likely the two most magnificent protected regions in these two countries and great treasures for adventure and wildlife enthusiasts. They are ideal for exploring magical woodlands and taking in breath-blowing sights of beautiful historic bridges framed by sandstone formations. Another advantage of visiting Saxon or Bohemian Switzerland is its accessibility. Saxon Switzerland is only 30 minutes from Dresden and is well accessible by Deutsche Bahn, Germany’s national railway system. Meanwhile, using the local railway system, Bohemian Switzerland is only 3 hours distant from Prague.

ICELAND

Iceland is a fantastic place to go on adventurous activities. From hiking on some of Europe’s largest glaciers to climbing active volcanoes, there’s something for everyone. Visitors to Iceland will quickly understand why the country is known as “the land of fire and ice.” The lovely Seljalandsfoss and Svartifoss waterfalls will transport you to another dimension, while the massive Gulfoss will make you feel very small. It’s not just about the beauty of the scenery; it’s also about the variety of landscapes I was able to see. In a single day, I saw multiple waterfalls, hot springs, and volcanoes.

LOFOTEN ISLANDS

The Lofoten Islands are one of the few places on the planet that may surprise even the most seasoned traveler at any time of day or night. This archipelago, located in Norway and just above the Arctic Circle, is the ultimate frontier for people seeking adventure and natural beauty without having to leave continental Europe. Its breathtaking scenery is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful in the world, and visitors to the islands can partake in a wide range of adventurous activities such as whale watching, mountain biking, and climbing.

CHAMONIX MONT-BLANC

If I don’t include the Alps, I won’t have a complete list of Europe’s most magnificent mountain views. When I think of gorgeous landscapes in the “Old Continent” and the place to be for experiencing the tallest peaks in this part of the world, this is the first place that comes to mind. When visiting the Alps, it’s difficult to pick just one site. Hidden jewels with spectacular vistas and snug huts to spend the night can be found in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and France. Despite the fact that Switzerland is well-known around the world, it is the best place to visit if you want to experience the Alps in all their glory.

DOLOMITES

It’s been described as “a less glamorous counterpart of the Alps.” The Dolomites, on the other hand, are, in my opinion, Europe’s most magnificent mountain range. Its saw-toothed peaks are the perfect backdrop for a postcard, and its alpine passageways have taken the breath of many an outdoor enthusiast. The Dolomites have 18 summits that rise to almost 3000 meters, allowing visitors to organize almost any type of tour. From one-day treks to the Dolomites’ base to 15-day expeditions to the summits of multiple peaks, there’s something for everyone.
