Bollywood has given us some of the best stories that will always live in our hearts! And when it comes to romance Bollywood knows just what to add to the mix to make it extra hatke… But everyone knows just how problematic it can get. Most stories are idealistic at best and toxic at worst. Here are 6 characters that set the most unrealistic relationship goals.

1) Surinder from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi:
Sure, change can be a good thing, but no form of love should ever make you change so much that you become unrecognizable. Surinder set a very toxic example of ‘changing for the woman you love.’ It makes no sense to wear a different identity to date a girl you are married to!

2) Veer and Zara from Veer Zara:
As much of a grand gesture and romantic as ‘waiting for the love of your life is’, it is unreal… especially in this movie! These two characters wait so many years without any flirting, flings, or cheating! It’s a bit too unrealistic since humans crave companionship.

3) Aditya Kashyap from Jab We Met:
Get yourself a man like Aditya Kashyap. Or realize that he can’t be real! The character has so many good points. But it is unrealistic to find someone who cares for you the way he cares for Geet and the lengths he goes to, looks for you while you run away to hill station only to get you home and reunite you with your lover! Sadly, Aditya is an ideal guy, not a real one.

4) Raj from Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge:
This iconic film has given so many Simran’s the false hope of their Raj coming and saving them from an arranged marriage. It also gave us the iconic dream of falling in love with someone after jumping into a running train by holding a stranger’s hand… while it was romantic to naïve eyes now it is just creepy.

5) Vanraj from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam:
The phrase if you love them let them go is quite a sweet one. And more often than not, a lot of people struggle with this one! So, watching Vanraj marry his wife, hear about her being in love with another man only to take her to the man and reunite them is just painfully unrealistic! You either opt for couples therapy or divorce…

6) Preeti from Kabir Singh:
This was a really problematic character. No matter how much you love someone, don’t fall prey to someone who throws a tantrum and expects you to listen to their non-sense and even take a slap to the face! This isn’t right on-screen and even worse in real life!
