Vivek Oberoi is one of the most talented and well-known actors of the Hindi film industry. The man has been impressing many since his very first movie ‘Company’ way back in 2002 and ever since then, there’s been no looking back for him. Some of his biggest hits so far include names like Company, Saathiya, Masti, Great Grand Masti, Shootout At Lokhandwala, Krrish 3, Vivegam and many more. Irrespective of commercial success, Vivek has always received critical acclaim for his performances as an actor and that has certainly helped him do good work in the industry.
One of his best masterstrokes has to be Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Inside Edge’ series. Interestingly enough, Vivek signed Inside Edge at a time when the OTT culture was not even close to being popular in the Indian content space. During an exclusive conversation with IWMBuzz, when Vivek was asked if people warned him against OTT at that time since he was a mainstream movie actor, he was quoted as saying,
“Yes absolutely. Well, in our country, if there’s one thing that people love to give for free then that is advice. Everyone has an opinion about everything. A lot of people warned me against Inside Edge and OTT back then but I always knew that’s the way forward. Deep down in my heart, I had the gut feeling that this is a thing of the future. Probably, I was blessed with the ability to foresee and today, OTT is everywhere. I am glad I listened to my heart back then and went on to do ‘Inside Edge’ which even today is one of the most successful series in India. I always like to listen to my heart and I am glad I did the same back then.”
