Rakul Preet Singh is a South Indian actress and model who mostly works in the film business. She has also acted in films in Tamil, Bollywood, and Kannada. Rakul Preet Singh has established herself as one of the leading Telugu film actresses in a short period of time. Rakul Preet Singh was born in New Delhi, India, on October 10, 1990, to Army Officer Rajender Singh and Kulwinder Singh. Rakul attended Army Public School in Dhaula Kuan and later earned an Honors’ Degree in Mathematics from the University of Delhi’s Jesus and Mary College. She was a competitive golfer who competed on a national level.

Rakul Preet Singh began her modeling career while still in college, doing various commercial flyers. In 2009, she made her cinematic debut in Raghava Loki’s Kannada film ‘Gilli.’ Rakul played Arati, alongside Gururaj Jaggesh, in the film, and her performance was warmly received by the public. Rakul competed in the ‘Femina Miss India Pageant’ in 2011 and came in fifth place, winning five pageant titles, including ‘Miss India People’s Choice.’ In the same year, she made her Telugu cinema debut as Sangeetha in ‘Keratam.’ Rakul debuted in the Tamil cinema business the following year with Thadaiyara Thaakka (2012), in which she played Gayathri Ramakrishnan opposite Arun Vijay.

In her brief career, she has appeared in a number of commercially successful films, including Venkatadri Express (2013), Current Theega (2014), and Loukyam (2014), which has led to her being cast in larger industry projects such as Kick 2 (2015), Bruce Lee – The Fighter (2015), Nannaku Prematho (2016), Sarrainodu (2016), Dhruva (2016), Rarandoi Veduka Chudham (2017), and Jaya Janaki Nayaka (2017). Rakul Preet Singh has received numerous honors, including the 64th Filmfare Awards South, Zee Telugu Apsara Awards, and Zee Cinema Awards for best actress. In February 2018, she was seen in Neeraj Pandey’s action-romance film Aiyaary (2018), alongside Sidharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee. The Telangana State Government in India has named her as the brand ambassador for the Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao programme.
