The South Indian industry has quite a few dazzling couples and ‘matches made in heaven’. From Allu Arjun and Sneha Reddy Allu from Telugu Cinema to Yash and Radhika Pandit form the Kannada film industry. Ajith Kumar and his wife, Shalini Ajith are two love birds that are a match made in heaven.
Ajith Kumar is one of the most thriving actors in the Tamil film industry. The actor has been around quite a while now and he has made quite an impact on the film industry. He has grown quite a lot over the years and so has the number of accolades that he won for his roles.
But his awards aren’t the only thing he got with his acting career. Ajith Kumar met his wife, Shalini Ajith, through the industry on the sets of a movie. It is quite the sweet story too, a match made in heaven if you must!
Shalini was a child artist and she made her debut in the 1983 Malayalam movie, Ente Mamattikkuttiyammakku at the age of three. She continued with her career as an actress. She was approached by a filmmaker after he watched her in the movie Kadhalukku Mariyadhai. He wanted to be cast in his movie opposite Ajith Kumar.
The two were cast in the 1999 movie, Amarkalam, and they met on its set. The couple soon after decided to tie the knot. After receiving the okay from their families, they got married on April 24, 2000. Both of them were well-known and successful actors at the time. Shalini however decided to give up on her acting career and focus on the home front instead. This happy couple now has a lovely home with two kids.
