Asin Thottumkal, also known as Asin, began her acting career at the age of 14 by appearing in various films in the south. However, it was her Bollywood debut in Ghajini, alongside Aamir Khan, that cemented her place in the hearts of the country’s Hindi-speaking diaspora.
It’s been five years since Asin last starred in a film, and it’s also been the same length of time since the actress married the man of her dreams, Rahul Sharma. We take you through the Ready actor’s love story and why she opted to take a long and indefinite sabbatical from the film industry on her 35th birthday.
She also remarked that her real-life narrative is eerily similar to that of her film Ghajini, and we have to agree. Asin further emphasized that her lover was down-to-earth, mature, level-headed, and understood exactly what he wanted out of life. She was blown away by his charisma, which she described as “very sorted” back in 2015. Throughout their relationship, he was only concerned with making her happy, and she couldn’t help but feel fortunate.
During this occasion, a reporter asked the actor about her intentions for work after marriage, and Asin stated unequivocally that she has been working since 2001 and that she wants to enjoy her marital life and fully relax away from work and the limelight.
The couple and their families married in Delhi in January 2016, using both Hindu and Christian traditions. Asin made it a point to have Akshay Kumar play her best man at the wedding, and she thanked him for finding her the best man in the world.
