Amitabh Harivansh Srivastava has come a long way from being an angry young guy to being Bollywood’s Shahenshah.

He has become not just bigger and more iconic with each passing year, but he has also become an institution that is inextricably linked to Indian cinema’s legend.

Screenwriters dream of crafting cinematic magic based on his onscreen antics, and filmmakers strive to cast him in their projects.

Because underneath Amitabh Bachchan’s aura, beyond the Big B’s exterior, pulses the spirit of a great actor – an artist for whom celluloid is a dimension of existence and expression.

It’s a fantastic mix of dashing heroes, wicked villains, overwhelming challenges, and star-crossed lovers.

Welcome to Bollywood, Mumbai’s film business, where everything goes as long as there’s a happy ending and plenty of singing and dancing.

Some may find the unbelievable plotlines and over-the-top dancing movements ridiculous, but it is this formula that has enthralled a whole nation, with about 10 million Indians visiting the theater every day.

“We’ve got a little bit of everything”, Amitabh Bachchan, a Bollywood star, remarked as much. “People go to watch music, dancing, and theatre when they want to be entertained.”

Bachchan, often known as “The Big B” in India, is a living icon in Hindi cinema, having appeared in over 150 films over the course of his 40-year career.

“There’s a lot of escapism in our films,” he said. “The West has been sceptical about the quality of our films on several occasions. However, I believe they are unaware of the reasons for our films’ creation and the nature of their content,” According to Bachchan.
