Jada Pinkett Smith was named after her mother’s favorite soap opera star, Jada Rowland, and was born in the city of Baltimore, Maryland. On her mother’s side, Pinkett Smith is of Jamaican and Bajan ancestry, while on her father’s side, she is of African-American ancestry. She lived outside of Jackson, Mississippi, with her uncle Thomas Pickett from 2003 to 2005. Pinkett Smith met and became close friends with rapper Tupac Shakur while attending the Baltimore School for the Arts. She was a narcotics dealer when she met Shakur. Her mother had been a heroin addict for a long time. She graduated in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree in dance and theatre. She attended a year after graduation at the North Carolina School of the Arts.

Pinkett Smith began her musical career in 2002 when she was a member of the heavy metal band Wicked Wisdom and sang and wrote for them. Will Smith and Jada both run a successful production company together where they have produced films, documentaries, and television programmes. Girls Hold Up This World, a children’s book she penned in 2004, was also released.

Jada Pinkett Smith has been on the red carpet for ages, whether to showcase her own movies or to show support for her ex-husband, Will Smith. When we look back at the Red Table Talk host’s fashion evolution, which began in the early 1990s, it’s clear that she’s always had a distinct sense of style. Who else can pull off braids, a platinum pixie cut, and a silk head wrap, regardless of age?
