Bollywood has given us quite a few different joys over the years. Sometimes with its thrilling action sequences and sometimes with its sappy scenes. Nonetheless, we are always here rooting for the lead, the hero to reach his goal, and at the end of the movie. But it isn’t always like that. Sometimes it’s the villain that we just keep our heart away from. Here are 5 times Bollywood actors played a villain and made us root for them:

1) Shah Rukh Khan in Don:
Don (2006), directed by Farhan Akhtar was a remake of Big B’s 1978 movie Don. Shah Rukh Khan played the role of both Vijay, the hero, and Don, the villain. However, it was SRK’s portrayal of Don that had everyone mesmerized.

2) John Abraham in Dhoom:
John Abraham played the brooding character of a conman who robbed banks. And while Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra’s characters were the heroes, everyone was sad to watch John’s character meet his end.

3) Sunil Shetty in Main Hoon Na:
Sunil Shetty played the role of a terrorist named Raghavan in the movie. And while watching the dynamic pairings of SRK, Amrita Rao and Zayed Khan were amazing, Sunil Shetty did an amazing job of being a villain. His character opposed SRK perfectly with an authoritative vibe and style. The fight scene is hard to forget too.

4) Akshay Kumar in Ajnabi:
The actor wowed and left everyone in chills with his portrayal of his character Vikram Bajaj. His character is a conman and a murderer in the thriller and the audience was on the edge of their seats because of his brilliant acting.

6) Ranveer Singh in Padmaavat:
Ranveer Singh played the role of Alauddin Khilji. The actor really outdid himself with this role. The actor put in a lot of effort while preparing for his role. And it’s no surprise that fans couldn’t get enough of the majestic yet menacing character.
