Hollywood has seen some amazing stars come and go! There are also those actors who have gone up on the wall of fame for their breathtaking performances in their movies. Tom Cruise, the handsome and extremely talented actor is one of the legendary American stars who is impossible to forget about. The actor has gone through quite a bit of transformation over his career! Check it out:

1) Growing up he had to endure quite a few hardships. His mother and father divorced each other when he was 12. His mother found it difficult to make ends meet sometimes. He and his father are estranged.

2) The actor was diagnosed with dyslexia when he was 7. He struggled with his school years and even described himself as a functional illiterate. He eventually overcame the disability giving credit to Study Technology. He is also on the Founding Board of the Hollywood Education and Literacy Project (H.E.L.P.) which provides free tutoring.

3) He first discovered his love for acting when his parents were still married and had moved to Ottawa in 1971. He had represented his school at a local drama festival. He took on many more roles over the years from age 8 to 11.

4) By 1983 he had worked in 4 movies. He got his break with his movie Risky Business, where he played the role of a teenager, Joel Goodsen who starts a Brothel in his home while his parents are away.

5) By 1990, he was one of the top Hollywood stars. Not only was he the hottest but he was also quite versatile and skilled with his acting. He had worked in quite a few different genres over the years, including drama (“A Few Good Men”), action (“Mission: Impossible”), romantic comedy (“Jerry Maguire”), an erotic thriller (“Eyes Wide Shut”).

6) He married his 2nd wife, Nicole Kidman in 1990. They adopted their kids, Isabella and Coner. They even worked in quite a few movies together like Far Away and Eyes Wide Shut.

7) He blew up once again after his CGI blockbuster in 1990.

8) In 2005 words of Tom Holmes and Katie Holmes hit the headlines when they were seen in Rome together. Katie Holmes gave birth to their daughter Suri before they tied the knot in 2006.

9) The actor’s image quickly tarnished in 2005 when he commented on Brooke Sheild’s use of antidepressants after giving birth. He claimed psychiatry to be a pseudoscience. He also told a reporter to ‘put your manners back’ for asking a personal question. Even though he bounces back later, it wasn’t the same!

10) He did let out his goofy side in the 2000s. And people even talked about his generosity to friends and strangers. He eventually got an image of being intense on set.
