The Ram from Ram Leela made our week in the keens for a guy like him. The movie 83 is based on the cricketer Kapil dev’s life who was the captain and support system of the Indian cricket team. Under his guidance, India won its 1st world cup in 1983. Hence the name of the movie is 83.
Ranveer transformed himself into the legendary cricketer Kapil Dev over a certain period of time. He not only lived a lifestyle like him but also lived the lifestyle with him. He was a guest at Kapil Dev’s house in Delhi for over 10 days just to learn every bit of his habits. Kapil Dev himself trained Ranveer in terms of cricket. Their practice camps took place in the Dharamshala stadium. He regularly did some intense cardio exercises and strictly followed a healthy diet just to get a fit body resembling the cricketers. Later Kapil Dev praised this versatile actor for his high dedication towards the role. Not only his body but Ranveer also changed his looks for the film. With curly hair, tanned skin and bushy moustache Ranveer looked like a carbon copy of the cricketer. Ranveer shared the 1st poster of the movie on his birthday.
The movie is directed by Kabir Khan. Deepika the real-life wife of Ranveer Singh is set to play his reel life wife Romi Dev in the film. Most of the movie was shot in Scotland and the finals are scheduled to be shoot on the icon stadium Lord’s in England. The cast of the film includes Pankaj Tripathi, Saqib Saleem, Tahir Raj, Bhasin, Jatin Sharma, Ammy Virk and Hardy Sandhu. Ranveer was seen in the commentator’s box many times during the world cup. He was also seen hanging around with other cricketers during the match. India defeated West indies during the finals and won the title. This movie is surely going to bring back some sweet memories of the day India lifted the trophy and Indians lifted the flag.
