Mandana Karimi has always been a name recognized in the Indian Entertainment Industry as someone who’s extremely gorgeous and beautiful. But what about acting skills? From doing multiple acting workshops to doing everything possible to get better as an actor, Mandana has truly worked upon herself to a great extent to break her long hiatus of being jobless in the Indian Entertainment Industry. And now, she’s all set to make a comeback with a bang with ZEE5’s upcoming offering, ‘The Casino’.

But what about survival and dealing with all sorts of shortcomings before getting The Casino? When we at IWMBuzz asked Mandana about the same, she said and we quote,

“For the longest time, I was without any work in the industry. After Kya Kool Hai Hum 3, things were not really working for me. I waited for a long time but things were not happening and that’s when I started to go through a lot of self-doubt. I was thinking that probably I wasn’t good enough to be a part of the industry. That’s where the support of my friends will never be forgotten. Also, I remember, I met Anurag Kashyap at JW Marriott and it was a casual meeting. I asked him what I can do better to get work and that’s where he told me to work more on my craft. Ever since then, I did many workshops and acting classes and kept focusing on my art. It was a difficult time for me overall. I needed money to survive. I still remember that I was almost homeless after my separation and it was a learning curve for me. However, I needed to find my place once again. I started messaging people for work without holding any ego because I feel ego is not for creative people. Slowly, things fell into place and after a lot of hard work and perseverance, The Casino happened for me.”

When asked further about the extreme injuries and bruises which she underwent while performing the special pole dance sequence, she added,

“Yes, I probably should have listened to my choreographer (laughs). I remember practising a lot before the shoot and I bruised my entire body. So on the day of shooting, my entire body was sore. It was difficult but I had to push myself to do justice to the character of Rehana. It was a difficult character to play and I wanted to give my best. Hopefully, the audience will realize the hard work when it’s out on June 12.”

Here’s wishing Mandana all the best for everything that she does in the future. For more updates, stay tuned to IWMBuzz.com.
