Former Indian cinema actress and model Namrata Shirodkar is well-known for her work in Hindi movies. She was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra, on January 22, 1972. Her older sister Shilpa Shirodkar and her grandmother Meenakshi Shirodkar were both involved in the film industry, which piqued her interest in acting when she was a little girl.
She joined Shirdi Ke Sai Baba as a child artist in 1977 after completing her early education in Mumbai and working on the Shatrughan Sinha-starring movie. She was also well-known for her beauty, and while modeling in 1993, she took home the crown of Miss India. At Miss Universe, where she placed sixth, she also represented India. She competed in the Miss Asia Pacific competition that same year, representing India, and finished as the first runner-up.

She made her acting debut in 1998’s hugely successful Jab Pyaar Kisise Hota Hai alongside Salman Khan and Twinkle Khanna in a small role. She later starred in the popular film Vaastav. She rose to fame in Bollywood due to the positive reception of her performance.
She has usually appeared in supporting roles in movies. Pukar, Hera Pheri, and Astitva are a few examples of successful movies. For her work in Pukar, she received a nomination for the IIFA Best Supporting Actress Award. However, since then, the box office performance of her movies has been poor.
When she portrayed Jaya Bakshi in Bride and Prejudice in 2004, she returned to the public eye. In the movie, she portrayed the older sister of Aishwarya Rai. Although the movie did well abroad, particularly in the UK, it did not perform well in India. After getting married, she later departed the industry.
