American actress Jennifer Aniston progressed from fame on the hit television sitcom Friends (1994–2004), which also served as the springboard for a lucrative film career.

In 1989, she made her television debut. Shortly after, she was given roles in two unsuccessful series, Molloy (1990) and Ferris Bueller (1990–1991). She portrayed Ferris’s older sister, Jeannie, in the latter, which was based on the popular 1986 film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Aniston made several further television appearances prior to her big-screen début in the underappreciated horror film Leprechaun (1993).
