Kabir Bedi, the well-known Bollywood actor has quite the roller coaster of a life. There were quite a few moments of turmoil and hardships with marriages and divorces, building relationships and losses. And the actor outlines all these moments of his life, unfiltered in his biography, ‘Stories I Must Tell’ which he wrote with the writer Meghna Pant.

The actor recently opened up about some of the details of the book in an interaction according to a Koimoi report. He talked about his affair with Parveen Babi and his son Siddharth during the interaction. Kabir Bedi and his family lost his son, Siddharth Bedi to suicide in 1997. According to a Koimoi report, he said that the chapters that revolve around his son go in-depth about mental health issues. Even so, it is simply “the story of a Father trying to prevent his son from committing suicide.”

Kabir Bedi spoke about the writing process and how it was like reopening an old scar for him. He revealed that the story “moves people to tears but I had to remain unmoved while writing it, as I relieved the things I had made peace with. I had to reopen those scars to write about how things panned out. My book is not written as a series of lessons–that could be another book–it is the reality of what happened,” according to a Koimoi report.

The actor also added “I wanted my readers to be thrilled while reading it. The effort wasn’t to have any heavy debates on the issue but it is a microscope on a problem that is seldom spoken or discussed because I was willing to share my vulnerability, pain, and experience. That’s how those chapters came about.”
