Kiccha Sudeep is a South actor who has worked in several languages for over 25 years of his career. As per the reports, he is coming up with a film that he states is one of the most ambitious movies. Vikrant Rona is an upcoming movie that has a high budget of 95 crores. It includes large sets, VFX, and also Bollywood Diva Jacqueline Fernandez. While in an interview with Hindustan Times, he talked about his friend Salman Khan who is also presenting the film in Hindi.

Vikrant Rona is a pan India film released in five distinct languages. This movie is Sudeep’s biggest film, and the enthusiasm for it is much more than any of his previous releases.
Kiccha Sudeep says, “The excitement is not because it travels in many languages. I am excited because we had an idea, a vision for this film, and achieved it. Finally, when we saw the film on screen 3-4 years ago, this is what we had visualized. Knowing we could achieve that gets me excited.”

The film is from when the South industry was ruling and surpassing the Bollywood Box office. The actor says, “When the content starts speaking, it starts traveling. This hasn’t been forced. It has been happening organically on its own. It’s the victory of content.”

And when asked if the cultural differences were a barrier, he instantly has a counterpart, “We were watching Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Maine Pyaar Kiya, we were watching Sholay, Hum Saath Saath Hain, and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. So, we have watched films from that culture, stories of Gujarati and Punjabi families, in cinema halls in Bangalore. So, it’s not about cultural differences. But, you will be interested if I give you what you haven’t seen.”

But he is not ignoring what has changed over the years. South films are also getting released in the North now. Sudeep says, “Everything has to end, including the restrictions. Earlier, southern films would come to the North but on satellite TV. Whenever I used to travel to Delhi, Goa, Mumbai, or Jaipur, people would recognize me and say he was that Bajirao hero because my film KempeGowda was dubbed in Hindi as Bajirao. So they knew us as satellite stars. It’s high time we got theatrical releases, which we are now.”

While the actor is also happy about the changing time where the language barrier is reducing, and north people are watching Kannada and Telugu films. “If you went to Punjab, they would know Punjabi and Hindi films. Similarly, in Bengal, they knew Bengali films and Hindi films. Hindi was universal. But they never knew about south films because our films were not in theatres. So it’s just like Thai and Korean series getting exposure; our films are getting exposure too. It was bound to happen but what has happened in these two years is almost 15 years of change.”

The actor also emphasizes the flip side of this change for film fraternity members who have to be on their toes. “Today, the audience is spoilt for choice. They have a menu card like a la carte and can choose what to consume. That has made things difficult for us. You can’t take your stardom for granted. You can’t take the audience for granted. So people won’t be taken for a ride,” he stated.

Vikrant Rona will be released in theatres on 28 July, and the audience can watch this in 5 distinct languages. While the Hindi version of the movie will be presented by Salman Khan, with whom Sudeep has worked in Dabangg 3. The actor revealed Salman Khan’s interest in the film, saying, “I was in Mumbai. He knew I was doing this film and showing the showreel to some companies. When I met him later, he had already heard from people and asked me to see the film. He liked it. He took a clean interest in the Mumbai market. So he called his team to help us. He asked, ‘Do you want me to come to shoot you?’ I just said the maximum you can do is present the film because I didn’t want to ask for anything more. We are like brothers. Our equation is beyond cinema.”
