Margot Elise Robbie, the Australian actress was born on 2nd July 1990 in Dalby, Queensland to her Scottish parents, Doug Robbie and Sarie Kessler. Her mother, Sarie Kessler is a physiotherapist. She has 3 siblings, two brothers, and one sister.
She completed her graduation from Somerset College in Mudgeeraba, Queensland, Australia. It was the place she and her siblings were raised. She spent quite a bit of her childhood at the farm that belongs to her grandparents.
She moved to Melbourne, Victoria, Australia to pursue her career in acting in her teens. She spent 2 years, from 2008-10 as the character, Donna Freedman in the 1985 Australian soap opera, Neighbours. She was nominated for 2 Logie Awards for her role. She soon set off to make it big in Hollywood. She landed the role of Laura Cameron for the ABC series Pan Am in 2011.
She soon made her big-screen debut with the 2013 film, About Time. In the same year, she also got the role of Naomi Lapaglia alongside Leonardo DeCaprio in the Oscar-nominated movie, The Wolf of Wall Street. The role got her nominated for a Breakthrough Performance MTV Movie Award among others.
In 2014, the actress founded her production company, Lucky Chap Entertainment. She appeared in quite a few other hit movies over the years. In 2016 she tied the knot with Tom Ackerley in Byron Bay, New South Wales in Australia.
2016 was quite the year for the actress. She starred in quite a few popular hits! She starred in the film The Legend of Tarzan as Jane Porter, Tanya Vanderpoel in Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, and Harley Quinn (DC Comin villain) in Suicide Squad. She was nominated for several awards for her roles. In the consequent year, she starred in her hit movie, I Tonya.
