Ram Kamal Mukherjee is one of the most admired and appreciated multi-talented personalities that we have in the Indian entertainment industry. He has earlier been a successful journalist and the way he’s transitioned from a successful journalist to a writer, director and biographer is something truly inspiring for one and all. He’s the proud recipient of many eminent awards and recognitions and his good quality of work in his books and movies speak volumes of him as a personality.

He was recently bestowed with two big honours at the Society Achievers Award this year. He won the ‘Best Biographer’ award for his biography of Mithun Chakraborty and he also won Best Short Film Director for ‘Ek Duaa’. Regarding the same, he took to social media to share his happiness and wrote,

“It took 22 years for a boy from Kolkata to receive the prestigious Society Achivers Award from Honourable Chief Minsiter of Maharashtra Shri Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Devendra Fadnavis and of course Smt Hema Malini.

My heartfelt gratitude to Mr Nari Hira and Mr Ashok Dhamankar for believing in me and encouraging me in every step of my life. From being a journalist to filmmaker, it’s been a long journey. And this wouldn’t have been possible without blessings from my parents, love from my friends and colleagues, unconditional support from my wife Sarbani Mukherjee and my son Rian.

I dedicate this award to my publisher Rupa Publications for Mithun Chakraborty’s biography ‘Dada of Bollywood’ and my dearest actor and producer Esha Deol Takthani for ‘Ek Duaa’.”
