Sushmita Sen recently shot to the headlines with her amazing work in the series Aarya. However, after her venture into the series, the actress has been taking a break now. With that, she has now recently opened up about her career and how mainstream cinema didn’t give what she really wanted.

She said, “I think the 10-year hiatus set the priorities in order. It told me what I need to do and what not to do. Mainstream cinema wasn’t giving me what I wanted. A lot of it was a preconceived notion of my age and my screen age and that I hadn’t worked for ten years.”

She further added on how her reluctance to make network led her to miss out on opportunities, saying, “I don’t know what the mindset was or maybe I was not putting myself out there. I have never been good at that. I am no good at networking. It did not work for me.” as quoted by Koi Moi.

She debuted on the OTT platform with Aarya, however, earlier the actress has worked in several hit films and is the former Miss Universe, who was crowned the same back in 1994.
