In 2013, she starred in Mohit Suri’s Hindi-language romantic musical drama film ‘Aashiqui 2.’ She was nominated for various awards for her performance as ‘Arohi Keshav Shirke,’ including the ‘Filmfare Award’ for ‘Best Actress.’ The next year, she starred as ‘Aisha Verma’ in the critically acclaimed Hindi-language action thriller film ‘Ek Villain.’ She also starred in the crime drama film ‘Haider,’ directed by Vishal Bhardwaj, in the same year. ‘Haider’ was screened at the ‘Rome Film Festival,’ where it was awarded the ‘People’s Choice Award,’ making it the first Indian film to do so.

She starred in the Hindi-language action thriller film ‘Baaghi,’ directed by Sabbir Khan, in 2016. Critics gave the picture mixed reviews, but it was a huge box office hit, generating over 126 crores on a budget of 37 crores. Following that, she appeared in films like ‘Ok Jaanu’ (2017), ‘Half Girlfriend’ (2017), ‘Haseena Parkar’ (2017), ‘Stree’ (2018), and ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’ (2018). She acted as Amritha “Amu” Nair in Sujeeth’s trilingual action thriller film “Saaho” in 2019. Despite receiving mixed reviews at the box office, the picture went on to become the second highest-grossing Indian film of the year.

In the year 2020, Kapoor starred in Ahmed Khan’s action thriller ‘Baaghi 3’. Critics gave the film mixed reviews, but it was a box office hit.
