Aamir Khan is one of the finest and most relevant actors in the country in today’s time. He has been charming the audience with his brilliance for more than 3 decades and no wonder, the mass frenzy is for real whenever he has a new movie release.

His upcoming movie Laal Singh Chaddha is currently making headlines after its trailer got released on YouTube. Netizens all over the country have been thrashing the film, and have been harshly criticising Aamir Khan’s work as ‘Overacting’ in their personal tweets on social media.

For the unversed, the movie is a remake of the movie Forrest Grump, one of the most iconic in history. However, as it seems, the trailer of Laal Singh Chaddha has disappointed the Forrest Grump fans, and here we have shared their tweets and opinions that we got our hands on recently.

A user on Reddit wrote, “There’s something so similar about all these roles even though they’re fundamentally different characters. I don’t know whether it’s Aamir being caricaturish or what. but it’s getting repetitive and difficult to watch,”

Further sharing some pictures of Aamir Khan, he wrote, “I am praying that Tom Hanks doesn’t get to watch Laal Singh Chaddha’s trailer. Forrest Gump character ki itni gandi durdasha dekh kar Tom bhai suuiccide kar lenge. Overacting ki bhi ek limit hoti hai par Amir the perfectionist ki koi limit nahi (Tom would want to kill himself after seeing such a bad take on his character. There is a limit to overacting but maybe not for Aamir, the perfectionist). P.S. that cringe Punjabi accent.”

However, it didn’t end on Reddit, several Twitter users took a dig at the trailer, one wrote, “After watching #LaalSinghChaddha trailer I decided to donate money to the poor and watch #ForrestGump online,” Another wrote, “#LaalSinghChaddha is trashed because we’re not the same gullible people we used to be in the 90s with no/delayed exposure to Hollywood movies. With the rise of English speaking middle class, Bollywood’s reputation of a copycat is getting stronger day by day,” as quoted by Hindustan Times.

However, we must add that no matter how much trolling or initial bit of judgement happens, it is always wise and sensible to first watch the movie and then go ahead to criticize it if one doesn’t like it. Yes, one can troll. However, benefit of doubt also needs to be given to an entertainer like Aamir who’s always had the knack of surprising people with his work. There’s an old saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” Well, all we can hope and stay positive about is that the trolling gets nullified whenever the movie releases. After all, someone of Aamir Khan’s stature certainly deserves ‘benefit of doubt’ before the movie releases atleast.
