Niki Walia has worked across mediums and has a career full of different and memorable roles. After all these years, she continues to push her limits and is all set for the release of Bhai Tera Star Hai, co-starring Raghav Juyal. Talking about her role in the upcoming film, Niki revealed that she’s playing Mandy, a spunky Punjabi woman living in London.
While she chose not to reveal much about the storyline, she admitted that Mandy is unlike anyone she has played before. “My character is Mandy, who is this crazy, full-of-life, vivacious Punjaban in London. Absolutely in love with herself, absolutely in love with life,” she said.
For Niki, what made the role memorable wasn’t just Mandy’s lively personality but the fact that the character demanded something she had never attempted in her career. “Without divulging too much, I would like to say that this has been my craziest character to date. It was extremely out of my skin, very challenging for me,” the actress shared.
Although comedy isn’t new to her, Niki explained that this role operated on an entirely different level. That difference also made her question whether she would be able to carry the character convincingly.
“What makes this character stand out from anything I’ve done so far is exactly as I said, it is so mad that I was nervous whether I would be able to pull it off because I have done comedies before, but they have never been this crazy,” she explained.
Despite those initial doubts, the actress eventually embraced the challenge. She believes Mandy is the maddest role she has taken on, making the experience one she will always remember.
