Madhuri Dixit, the dancing queen of Bollywood and goddess of expression has an extensive career in Bollywood. Over her career as an actress, she garnered a massive fan following through her acting prowess and her ethereal dance moves.
It has been a bit over 2 decades since the actress tied the knot with Shriram Madhav Nene back in 1999. She didn’t wait too long to get back to work either. She has been working in the mini-screen scene as a judge on various dance reality shows.
She worked as a lead role in many popular and successful movies. However, there was a time when a Bollywood singer had turned down a marriage proposal and rejected Madhuri Dixit. The actress hails from an orthodox family, and like any other orthodox Indian family, her parents were searching for a suitable man for her to marry. They weren’t too keen on her dreams of acting.
During this search for a suitable boy, her father came across the Bollywood singer Suresh Wadkar. Her father deemed him to be a good fit for his daughter. At the time, the singer was 12 years older than Madhuri Dixit and had just started his career. So when her father came to Suresh with the proposal he said he wasn’t interested in the proposal. According to The Post Reader reports, Suresh had rejected Madhuri simply because she was too slim back then. Madhuri’s father had been very disappointed at the time. However, things worked out for the better! Shortly after this, the actress became more active in Bollywood and slowly started making a name for herself. Maybe things would’ve been different if Suresh Wadkar had said yes!
